Prayer Shawls Gift Bags for Cancer Patients
We provide hand knitted lap blankets, shawls, and hats, with a hand written note of encouragement for each cancer patient, along with a care package which includes a puzzle book, pen, chewing gum, tissues, candies, socks, lip balm or lotion. These are distributed through the Cancer Care Center.
       
G.I. Snack Packs

We provide snacks for our colonoscopy or endoscopy patients in day surgery which is given to them after their procedure. Each pack includes a bottle of water, DMC logo lip balm, cheese crackers and a granola bar.

Imagination Library (Books for Babies)
This reading education program is completed by a volunteer to all new parents in the Birthing Center that offers registration for their child to receive a book per month in the mail until their 5th birthday. A child can be sponsored for one year for only $25.00. This program is provided for all Randolph and Tucker County residents. The Tucker County families are co-sponsored by the Tucker County Rotary.
       
Halo –SIDS Prevention Program
Education program for new parents to help prevent sudden infant death syndrome. The auxiliary provides Halo sleep swaddle blankets to our birthing center for in-patients and discount coupons for the Gift Garden so parents can purchase a wearable blanket for home. Auxiliary members help sew DMC patches on each blanket.

Mammography Robe Program
The auxiliary provides DMC Auxiliary monogrammed robes for the mammography patients to use during their test.  Members participate by hand stitching the belts to each robe before use.

Kids Activity Packs

Members assemble packs of activity books, crayons and stickers for our youngest visitors.

Fund Raising for Hospital Equipment Purchase
Members participate and support 6 major fund raising events per year such as jewelry, book and gift sales. The Gift Garden gift shop is owned and operated by the auxiliary as a year round fundraiser.

Personal Care Packages for Families

Personal care items are purchased and packaged in a hand sewn bag to be distributed to patient family members who arrive unprepared to support a patient.

Inspirational Reading Material for Patients

The auxiliary funds the purchase of inspirational reading materials for the residents of the Davis House, the DMC Palliative team and for our chaplains to distribute to patients.

Educational Scholarship

Each year the auxiliary provides a $1,000.00 scholarship to a deserving high school student who is seeking higher education for a healthcare related career.

Volunteering
Many auxiliary members join the DMC Volunteers and donate their time on a regular basis to assist the patients, visitors, and staff of Davis Medical Center.
