Our Team Approach

Cancer is a complex group of diseases and consultation among surgeons, medical and radiation oncologists, diagnostic radiologists, pathologists, and other cancer specialists, leads to better overall care for patients.  DMC accomplishes this team approach through the development of their tumor board which meets regularly to discuss treatment options for people with cancer and provide a full spectrum of care coordination.

Medical Dosimetry

Duane Boyce, B.S., CMD, RT (R)(T)
Chief Dosimetrist / Chief Therapist

Duane is the Cancer Care Center’s medical dosimetrist, one of only a few certified dosimetrists in the state of West Virginia.  As a member of the radiation oncology team, Duane has a thorough understanding of the technical aspects of radiation oncology and medical physics.  He works closely with radiation oncologist Dr. Marshall Sklar to derive computerized treatment plans and generate radiation dose distributions and calculations.

Nurse Navigator

Angie Arbogast, RN
Nurse Navigator

Angie Arbogast, RN is the Cancer Care Center’s nurse navigator.  She assists patients and their families with the coordination of care and also helps them receive additional resources and support to make their diagnosis less challenging.  Angie is a valuable member of the care giving team bringing assistance through compassion to those who need it most.

Nurse Navigator Services include assistance with:

  • Financial support
  • Insurance authorization
  • Transportation to and from medical appointments
  • Home care or daily living needs
  • Emotional support


Cancer Care Center recently earned full three-year accreditation with eight commendations by the American College of Surgeon's Commission on Cancer. It is the only newly accredited program in the state of West Virginia to receive the Outstanding Achievement Award, and one of only 12 programs in the nation to earn this distinction during the 2010 survey.
