Nitesh Ratnakar, M.D., FACG completed a fellowship in gastroenterology and hepatology at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, Milwaukee, Wisconsin where he also finished his training in advanced therapeutic endoscopy. Dr. Ratnakar completed a fellowship in geriatric medicine at the University of South Florida College of Medicine. He did his internship and residency in Internal Medicine at the Chicago Medical School / Finch University of Health Sciences, North Chicago, IL. He graduated medical school from University of Delhi / Maulana Azad Medical College, New Delhi, India. He is board certified in Gastroenterology, Internal Medicine and Geriatric Medicine. Dr. Ratnakar is currently the West Virginia Governor of the American College of Gastroenterology. Dr. Ratnakar consults on all aspects of digestive and liver diseases and has a special interest in therapeutic & interventional endoscopy, pancreatico-biliary endoscopy, colon cancer screening with an adenoma detection rate (an important measure of colonoscopy quality) in the top 5% nationwide, non-surgical treatment of hemorrhoids and ablative therapy for Barrett's esophagus. Dr. Ratnakar is also fellowship trained and board certified in Geriatrics and has expertise in taking care of seniors with digestive and liver diseases. He has been elected to fellowship of the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), is a member of the American Society of Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and American Medical Association (AMA). Outside of medicine, Dr. Ratnakar's interests include tennis, travelling, charitable work and spending time with his three young children.
